Sludge Screw Press MD 131

The Trident MD sludge screw press is available in a variety of models. The MD 131 press is very effective for smaller flow rates (approx. 2,500 – 5,000 GPD). At a small wastewater treatment plant in a remote area in the Pacific Northwest this model was used to address challenges due to settled solids in the lagoon. The team uses a MD Press 131 to process dilute sludge from their clarifier with about 1% solids. A polymer is used to flocculate the fine solids and the material is then sent through the MD Press dewatering cylinder for mechanical separation.

The MD sludge screw press produces a stackable cake product with approx. 16-17% solids and a low solids effluent. The effluent is collected in the MD’s filtrate tank and subsequently drained to the plant’s lagoon.  The MD press 131 is a very compact unit, approx. 74” long and 17” wide. The current sell price for the base separator is less than $30,000. All common add-on components like feed pump, polymer system, controls and automation are available through Trident.
