MD Press manure separation at Cornell Pro Dairy field demonstration
Our team is excited about the great turnout at the Cornell University Pro Dairy agricultural engineering field demonstration in New York state on May 24. Trident’s ag equipment dealer Pikeside Ag Machinery, LLC, Aurora Ridge Dairy and several other partners were instrumental in getting the demonstration organized.
The team had the Trident MD Press set up at the dairy to demonstrate it’s fine-solids manure separation capabilities. The effluent from the farm’s existing primary screw press separator was sent to the MD Press to address nutrient recovery and water reclamation. The polymer-assisted treatment with the MD Press is a low-impact process with minimal shear forces. In fact, the MD model used onsite only requires 0.5 HP. However, its separation performance is impressive. Previous sample tests at this dairy have confirmed 88% phosphorus capture and the solids content in the liquid stream was reduced from 3.5%TS to under 1%TS. The MD treatment removed over 70% of suspended particulate from the liquid. This is a game changer not only from a nutrient management perspective but also in terms of manure handling, storage and re-use ability.
The MD Press works well with both raw and digested manure and can be integrated with most existing primary manure treatment processes. Connect with our team to request your quotation.
