Sludge dewatering is a wastewater treatment process that uses dedicated separation equipment to separate liquid and solids. During sludge dewatering significant mechanical forces are applied that help release water from the sludge. The concentrated solids are discharged as sludge cake, typically in the 15-30% TS range. Polymer may be added during the process to optimize the mechanical separation. Sludge dewatering usually follows some form of sludge thickening treatment.

The MD Press 454 dewatering press can process up to 250,000 gpd with about 4,000 lbs DS/hr. It features four dewatering cylinders, each powered by a 1.5 kW motor. The cylinders are strategically designed to allow efficient thickening and dewatering in a single operation.

A single unit can process 250,000 gpd with up to 4,000 lbs ds/min throughput. The press features four dewatering cylinders, each powered by a 1.5KW motor. The cylinders are strategically designed to allow efficient thickening and dewatering in a single operation. Maintenance requirements are drastically reduced due to its self-cleaning design. Trident recommends a 10,000 hr service interval.
